Ride a Train to Nantahala Gorge, North Carolina

Riding a train is one of the wonderful ways to experience Nantahala Gorge and the autumn explosion of colorful leaves in North Carolina. Whether you go by car, hiking, or take the Great Smoky Mountain Railway, it is one beautiful place to enjoy the mountains and the beautiful scenery of the USA. The train leaves twice a day from Brice City and takes you on a trip through some of the most amazing autumn foliage to a river and more. It is only 3 hours drive from Atlanta, GA, and well worth it.

Enjoy Duke University's Gardens

Photographing the Sarah P Duke Gardens of Duke University has given me tremendous pleasure. I had been told that Duke University is a beautiful place to visit, even if you do not plan on going to school here. You must take the time to see this incredibly beautiful place located just outside Raleigh, North Carolina. These gardens are only a glimpse of what this place is like. The grounds are spectacular, along with all the buildings, and the history is truly remarkable. Definitely a place to enjoy.

Visit San Diego, California

San Diego is one of the most beautiful cities in California! It is well worth the visit. Not only is the weather perfect year round, but there are beautiful beaches, marinas, and water related sports to enjoy everywhere! Balboa Park and Gardens is a must, and Old Town San Diego is quaint and beautiful! If you have the courage and the time, cross over to Tijuana (preferably during the day) and enjoy some wonderful Mexican food and shopping! See Old Missions that have been there for hundreds of years and enjoy whale watching in the bay and out to sea in the beautiful Pacific. Just sitting and enjoying the sailboats sail the bay is exceedingly lovely.

Visit Natchitoches Louisiana and Enjoy a BBQ Cook-Off

I have driven highway 49 in Louisiana many times from Baton Rouge to Shreveport and always wanted to stop by this little town and take a look. It was a wonderful experience that left me wanting to return to spend an entire week or at least a long weekend. Not only did I enjoy seeing this little town, but there is a fort and beautiful southern plantations in the area too! What a great little town on the Red River. This quaint little town offers the enjoyment for locals and visitors of lovely Lake Sibley. To my surprise, when I arrived there was a Bar-B-Que cook-off fundraiser for some local ball teams, and everyone was settling up. What fun and what delicious food!
